APIQ_® Manuals and Guides

  • APIQ_® Standards Manual: The APIQ_® Standards are presented in seven (7) modules, each with defined outcomes and performance indicators.
  • APIQ_® Implementation Manual: This manual is to assist Large Holders to become familiar with and implement APIQ_® , including how to establish your  Piggery Management Manual.
  • APIQ_® Small Holder Manual: Guidelines to help small producers implement APIQ_® on farm.
  • APIQ_® Reference Manual:  includes practical information on on-farm practices and guidelines to ensure compliance to APIQ_®.
  • APIQ_® Compliance Guide: This is a guide to APIQ_®  compliance for producers and auditors.  This is a tool / practical guide on the type of evidence that a producer could use to demonstrate compliance with each APIQ_® Standard and Performance Indicator.
  • APIQ_® Express Audit Checklist: This will enable you to conduct an internal audit of your site to determine if your quality assurance system currently covers all of the APIQ_® Standards.
  • APIQ_® Pig Management Diary: If you are a small holder (less than 50 sows), the Pig management Diary covers on-farm record keeping. This Manual is only available in hardcopy and is available upon request to APIQM.

APIQ_® Manuals and Guides

Internal Audits

All APIQ_® Certified producers must conduct and record an annual internal audit, approximately six (6) months but not later than eight (8) months, after their APIQ Compliance Audit is conducted.

If you are a producer seeking APIQ Certification, it is recommended that you conduct an internal audit of your site to aid in determining if your quality assurance system covers all of the APIQ_® Standards.

Example Standard Operating Procedures / Work Instructions

The APIQ_® on farm QA program manages farm risks by following good agricultural practices using the principles of Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Points (HACCP); and is designed to assist producers to identify and manage risks by providing tools, including diaries, example Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs)/Work Instructions (WIs) and recording systems.

Example Templates, SOPs/WIs and records are available for download off the APIQ_® website, or you can request these from APIQM via email at apiq@australianpork.com.au or phone 1800 789 099.

The templates are designed for you to revise to accurately outline your piggery(s) processes, practices and procedures.
